Unlocking The Archaeological Record

Formation of the record

over time the earth covers ruins of ancient times and more layers are formed covering the land and artifacts from centuries ago. traces of the old village is found when they are dug up from the ground and given to archeaoligist. Archaeoligist examine the earth and put together a record.



The excavation of a site

When archaeoligist uncover a site by dividing the site into squares with grids. when they find an object they examine them carefully and record where it was found. archeaoligist believe that the layers of the earth can help finding out history. Earthquakes can also cause the layers go over the artifacts and cover them too.
